30 Day Television Challenge

Meme's have always interested me, and since I haven't really had anything interesting to write about recently, I was researching what meme's there are around the web. I came across quite a few 30 Day Challenges (finding this tumblr may have had something to do with it) and I thought I'd pick one and give it a go. Of course the actual picking was the hardest part. Seriously. So I may be having a go at more than one. But I'm starting with the TV Challenge. I might just put everything in one entry, but I'll keep editing the entry as the days go by.  This is going to encompass any programme on TV; cartoon, soap, american, british, you name it, it may be on here. Wish me luck in finishing!

Day 1: A show that should never have been cancelled.

Heroes. Seriously, for something that started out so big, I didn't even realise when it stopped being big. I don't know if it was the fact that they brought in too many characters or if it was that the progression in everyone's powers was too much for the audience, but this is one show that I think I can say crashed and burned. I still liked it anyhow, and I do miss Peter Petrelli and Matt Parkman, my favourite characters alongside Sylar. Zachary Quinto is a fricken awesome actor. You know what the funny thing is? I haven't even watched the whole series. There is actually, (and I'm slightly ashamed to admit this), a lot of season 1 that I didn't ever watch, because I refused to get hooked on Heroes when it first started. Maybe I should go back and watch it...
Day 2: A show that you wish more people were watching.

Everwood. I started watching it when it aired on ITV1 and that was sort of half way through Season 2, but the fact that it was on during the afternoon made me think that it wasn't doing that well. And I also get the feeling it wasn't particularly popular in the US either. I also don't really get why though; the first season was amazing and it only really hit a downhill when it got to Season 3. Delia and Harold are my favourite characters and I don't think the writers got enough credit. So yeah, Everwood.
Day 3: Your favourite new show.

So this is supposed to be about a show that aired this season, but I'm going to go with one that aired last season; The Vampire Diaries. I originally started watching it to see if it was the typical teen vampire drama, and although it's about teenagers and vampires, there is something different about it. I don't connect to Elena as a main character too much, but I think Ian Somerhalder is an amazing actor, the fact that he's drop dead gorgeous is a plus, and I think the casting was done really well. And the programme is intriguing enough and leads into storylines without being too predictable. I'm also really looking forward to the second half of season 2, and hope they do it justice!
Day 4: Your favourite show ever.

I don't really have a favourite, because there are a lot of shows that I like, and sometimes I go off certain shows, only to be drawn back in later. One show that I don't think I've ever really gone off is F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I know it's a little bit cliche, but it's ridiculously funny and so entertaining. It doesn't matter that I probably know most of the lines, or that I've probably seen each episode at least 4 times, I'm not bored of it at all. So Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey have this one; I couldn't think of anyone better.
Day 5: A show you hate.

90210. I remember the good old days when I used to nag my cousin to let me watch Beverly Hills 90210, and used to really be into it. I didn't even start watching the new one when it first aired, but caught the first episode when E4 was showing re-runs. Although the first episode was slightly tolerable, every episode after was decidedly not. I don't really know why, but it just isn't a show that I could get into. Hate is a very strong word, but 90210 is definitely not one of my favourite programmes in the world.
